Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - not quite!

Scientists have finally located where our appreciation of beauty is located - it is not in the eye but in an area below the eye called the medial orbito-frontal-cortex.  It is apparently this area that lights up when a likely looking lover passes into our field of vision.  According to Prof. Zeki who led the research the medial orbito-frontal-cortex springs into action when we are looking at or listening to someone they really liked.  So now you know the bit of the body to blame when the hormones start pounding!
