Mirjam Peternek, managing director of Hawaii Tourism Europe, claims that there is a huge range of activities available for tourists, so much so that they will never get bored.

She said: "The diversity of the islands means there is a huge range of things to do, places to explore, and experiences to be had.

"From hiking to the summit of Big Island's volcanoes to taking a helicopter to one of Kauai's award-winning secluded beaches, there's something for every type of visitor."

Ms Peternek added that Hawaii is one of the world's best destinations because of its beaches and its year-round sunshine.

Those planning on visiting Hawaii with their extra-marital lover may like to check out the Polynesian Na Hoku O Hawaii Music Festival, which is due to take place in February.
