The UK has some of the world's most "vibrant and fascinating" cities, so it may be a good idea to have an adulterous relationship in one, as this will make the city even more exciting.

Tom Hall, spokesman and writer for Lonely Planet, claims that cities such as Newcastle, Birmingham and Glasgow have changed a great deal over the past few years.

He said: "I went to Glasgow earlier in the year and was absolutely blown away by the amount of things there were to do. Fantastic galleries, really interesting history, great riverside and really good shopping.

"There are also more events and festivals taking place around Britain than ever before."

Mr Hall added that people simply need to "reach out" a little and they will find great places to visit that will not be overly expensive.

This may also be of interest to those looking to take their extra-marital lover away for a romantic weekend, as they will be able to do so without spending a lot of money, which may lead to a suspicious spouse.
