Successful women attracted to older men

Successful women attracted to older men Women who are financially independent are more likely to want an older and more attractive extra-marital lover, it has been revealed.

Researchers at the University of Abertay Dundee have found that financial independence gives women more confidence in choosing who to have a bit of nookie with.

It was expected that as a woman became more financially independent, her preference on partner would mirror that of a man's, in that they would seek a younger more attractive lover.

However, although women did want better looks, they did not seek youth in their partner.

Lead researcher Dr Fhionna Moore said: "The preferred age difference did not change as we'd expected - more financially independent women actually preferred even older men.

"We think this suggests greater financial independence gives women more confidence in partner choices, and attracts them to powerful, attractive older men."

This appears to debunk the cougar stereotype, however researchers suggest that independence gives women to pick an attractive partner of any age.
