14m Brits have had a bit of nookie outdoors

Around 14 million people in Britain have had sex outside, a new survey has revealed.

The Big Sex Survey was commissioned by UKTV's channel Really ahead of the launch of its new show Sex Rehab.

Findings revealed that a third of people had enjoyed a bit on nookie in a shopping centre or toilets, while one in twenty said they had done it in the back of a cinema.

Clare Laycock, head of the TV channel, said that the results had transformed Brit's image of being prude in the bedroom.

She also noted that the older generation are getting plenty of action in the bedroom, explaining: "If you thought retirement was all about a quiet life of golf, holidays and country walks, that certainly isn't the case - with just under 30 per cent of the over 70s are having sex three times a week or more."

The survey also revealed that over half of respondents had enjoyed a one night stand and that the average adult had had a romantic liaison with a stranger at least once within the last six months.
