Quarter of couples sleep in separate beds
8 Nov 2010
A quarter of couples in the UK sleep in separate beds because of a partner's "unbearable" habits, such as snoring. That is according to new research by the Etap Hotel Group, which found that people who share a bed lose around 70 minutes of sleep every night because of the other person.
This could come as good news to those looking for a bit of nookie from a bit on the side, because you may suggest to your spouse that sleeping in separate rooms will leave you both better rested.
In the meantime, you will be free to carry out an adulterous relationship without having to sneak into bed late at night.
Sleeping in separate rooms may also rekindle romance within a marriage, meaning you may end up getting twice the sex.
Psychologist Donna Dawson said: "One solution to snoring is to sleep apart, as a good night's sleep not only revives the body, but also rekindles the romance by making it feel as though you are dating again."
