Cyprus is the 'island of love'
5 Nov 2010
Adulterous couples looking to take a romantic trip away together may want to consider Cyprus, as it is known as the "island of love".Orestis Rossides, UK director of the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, said that couples are "pretty much guaranteed" sunshine all year round.
He explained that Marc Antony gave Cyprus to Cleopatra as a token of his love and it is known as the 'island of love' because it is the home of goddess Aphrodite.
Mr Rossides said: "There is plenty to do across the island to suit him and her whether pampering at the spas, playing golf, hiking, biking, wine tasting and 10,000 years of historical heritage and culture to be explored."
He added that Cyprus enjoys "clear skies, blue sea and some of the most luxurious resorts in Europe."
So those looking to take their adulterous relationship to a romantic destination may like to consider Cyprus as they may also be guaranteed a bit of nookie.
