Third of Scottish women unfaithful

Third of Scottish women unfaithful A third of women in Scotland aged between 24 and 44 have been unfaithful to their partner.

That is according to a survey by the Daily Record, which organised a poll of 500 women in partnership with No 1 magazine.

The most commonly cited reasons for playing away from home that women gave included boredom, feeling unappreciated and drunken mistakes.

Susan Quilliam, relationship psychologist and agony aunt, told the news provider: "It is a shock that the older age group, who are probably married with children, cheat as much as they do - it's a sign that relationships aren't as stable as they were and fidelity isn't as important."

The survey also revealed that 64 per cent of women thought of the term cougar as empowering and is a sign of a woman's strength.

This research was carried out ahead of the Girls' Day Out show at the SECC in Glasgow next month.
