Leave your mistress 'speechless' in Cancun

Unfaithful men looking to treat their mistress to a romantic getaway may like to consider Cancun as a destination of choice as the beaches there will leave her "speechless".

That is according to Manuel Diaz Cebrian, Europe regional director of the Mexico Tourism Board, who said the Cancun region offers a great deal of "diverse attractions".

He said: " Cancun … offers a vast amount of diverse attractions as a region, such as nature, beaches that will leave you speechless, world heritage, colonial sites and a unique gastronomy.

"Chichen Itza is a must visit, it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the unique sink holes with clear water are all around the peninsula."

Mr Cebrian added that the town of Izamal offers a true experience of Mexican culture with its colonial roads and "amazing churches".

According to the Mexico Tourism Board, tourists from the UK make up the country's third largest visitor base, following USA and Canada only.
