Bournemouth a year-round resort for a romantic getaway

Those considering taking their extra-marital lover on a romantic getaway could consider Bournemouth as it has been described as a "year-round" resort.

Mark Smith, director of Bournemouth Tourism, said that although the area is considered a summer destination, it offers much to do throughout the winter months.

He said: "Entering in to October we have our food and drink festival - October-Feast - and then our annual Halloween celebration on the 30th.

"Of course, with Christmas approaching the popular German Market will be back in November and then there's the Christmas Light Switch On."

Mr Smith added that Bournemouth had recently been awarded a Purple Flag for its excellent nightlife, meaning those looking for a bit on the side as part of a one-night stand could also consider the resort as a getaway destination.

The 2010 Group Leisure Awards took place on September 22nd and saw Bournemouth named the Best UK Resort.
