Casual sex could lead to a long-term adulterous relationship

Casual sex could lead to a long-term adulterous relationship Getting a bit of nookie as part of a casual hook-up could result in a long-term adulterous relationship.

That is according to new research from the University of Iowa, which debunks the common belief that couples who rush into sex will not end up with a meaningful relationship.

Lead researcher Anthony Paik found that the relationship quality of people who "dated and waited" was no better than those who jumped straight into the sack.

He said: "The study suggests that rewarding relationships are possible for those who delay sex.

"But it's also possible for true love to emerge if things start off with a more Sex and the City approach, when people spot each other across the room, become sexually involved and then build a relationship."

This may come as good news for those who are in the market for a long term extra-marital affair, but who would also like a bit of nookie while on the look out, as there is no reason why a relationship will not develop from casual sex.
