Take your extra-marital lover for a walk on Scotland's 'wild beaches' Should you be looking for a place to take your extra-marital lover, Scotland's 'wild beaches' could be the ideal destination.

The recent Lonely Planet Awards revealed that Scotland's beaches were voted the most under-rated day out in Britain, scoring 28.17 per cent of the votes.

Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, said: "You'll find places you'll enjoy all over Scotland and you know in the vast majority of places they will be completely empty.

"We're not talking about Mediterranean water temperatures of course, but in terms of a scenic places that shows off the best of Britain, I can understand why our readers went for that."

Mr Hall specifically recommended Sandwood Bay as a "superb beach", as it is very wild and it "just pops up" after a four mile walk from the car park.

This may well appeal to those indulging in an adulterous relationship, as you can be safe in the knowledge that you and your mistress are far away from prying eyes.
