Kate Winslet 'freaked out' over on-screen infidelity

Sam Mendes' lack of concern over Kate Winslet's on-screen infidelity may have been one of the reasons the couple separated.

The famous pair worked together on 2008's Revolutionary Road, which involved some steamy encounters between the actress and Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio.

But it appears that Mendes was so cool in directing his wife to have 'sex' with another man that Ms Winslet was left "freaked out", according to Reveal magazine.

This was the second film that Leo and Kate have worked on together, their steamy chemistry first wowing audiences in Titanic.

"She was really worried that Sam wasn't bothered by the fact that his wife was making out with another guy right in front of her," DiCaprio explained to the magazine.

"When Sam started telling her exactly how to have sex with me she didn't like it at all."

It seems that no reaction to infidelity – real or imagined – can be just as harmful to a relationship as a negative one.
