Julianna Margulies chats infidelity

Trust is the key issue to work on when it comes to reconciling a marriage after a partner has been caught having a secret affair with a mistress.

That is according to actress Julianna Margulies, who has become something of an expert on the topic thanks to her role in the hit show The Good Wife.

Speaking in an upcoming issue of Redbook, the TV star said: "I think the hardest thing about cheating would not be the physical act; it would be the trust you break.

"If you decide to take that person back, you have to make a deal to trust."

She also said that there aren't more media scandals involving women having secret affairs because most are tired due to their hectic lifestyles, balancing jobs and family commitments.

The Good Wife sees Ms Margulies playing the part of a lawyer called Alice whose husband is a state attorney caught having an affair and embroiled in a corruption scandal.
