Extra-marital dating could save marriages

Extra-marital dating could save marriages Allowing men to have a discreet relationship with a mistress could be in the best interest of a long-term marriage, it has been claimed.

According to author Holly Hill, formerly a mistress herself, "negotiated infidelity" between a husband and wife can make for a much happier marriage than sitting at home worrying about where a husband or wife may be.

In an interview with CNN, she colourfully explained: "It's better to walk the dog on a leash than let it escape through an unseen hole in the back fence."

Ms Hill, author of Sugarbabe - an account of her relationships with a series of 'sugar daddies' - said that women have found great solace in the book, which shows how a man can cheat but still love his wife.

"I think that cheating men are normal," she said. "Monogamous men are heroes. Men are hard-wired to betray women on the long-term."

One man who will be hoping for such understanding from his significant other is England football star Peter Crouch, who was recently accused of infidelity.

Fiancee Abbey Clancy has reportedly been confiding in Toni Terry, wife of Crouch's national teammate John Terry.

John and Toni famously reconciled after he was embroiled in a media frenzy following his affair with Vanessa Perroncel earlier this year.
