Authors claim adultery is normal

Authors claim adultery is normal It is normal that people get a bit on the side from an extra-marital lover because it is promiscuity, not monogamy, which is normal.

That is according to married couple Christopher Ryan and Cacilda Jetha, whose new book claims that humans are the most sexually charged animal on the planet, reports The Globe and Mail.

During an interview with the news provider, Mr Ryan said: "It's like vegetarianism: I think there are philosophically sound reasons for being a vegetarian, but that doesn't mean a barbecue isn't going to smell good.

"I think we diss the lie that monogamous marriage comes naturally to Homo sapiens. That's what we keep banging away at."

He added that it is a "great mistake" to end a marriage because of an adulterous relationship because having sex with someone else is not "that big of a deal".

However, he noted that people should be able to be open and honest about their extra-marital dating because it is deception and lies that are problematic.

Sex at Dawn: The Prehistoric Origins of Modern Sexuality was released last month.
