Why men enjoy playing away from home

Why men enjoy playing away from home Men are unfaithful for a number of reasons, some of which have been identified by a playwright, who claims to have interviewed over 250 adulterous men.

Peadar de Burca has travelled the UK searching for the answer as to why men cheat and reports that he has uncovered some "amazing" answers, reports the Independent.

Drawing conclusions from the playwright's research was Phillip Hodson, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Hodson noted that many men tend to have an adulterous relationship because of poor male role models within society, the fact that a "youthful" mistress is tempting and that adultery is exciting, among other reasons.

He wrote: "Most of life is hard work and sometimes we feel we need to be in our own movie.

"I think it was Annette Lawson who has written books on the topic who said something along those lines, and they ring true. A lot of people say that they would do it again because of the excitement involved."

Finally Hodson notes that many men get a bit on the side purely by accident, because in evolutionary terms, their main goal is to reproduce.

Recent research revealed that a fifth of adults in the UK are in love with someone that is not their partner.
