Women who would like to be the mistress of an extra-marital lover should consider a trip to the manicurist as well-groomed nails can "boost your overall look".

First lady Michelle Obama was recently pictured by Grazia magazine looking "edgy" with a bright green pedicure, showing that no matter what age you are, anyone can stay en vogue when it comes to nail design.

Nail expert Leighton Denny said: "I believe nails should be an asset to a person's hand and not a feature.

"With nails, it's so easy to change your look using just colour, so you can always stay on-trend without having to experiment with fashion fads such as nail art."

He added that you should choose nails that fit in with your lifestyle and suit your fingers.

This news follows research that women aged 31 are most attractive because with age comes confidence - voted the most attractive quality in a woman.

So those looking for a bit of nookie should consider being a bit more daring with their nails, as it may lead to a special adulterous relationship.
