A quarter of Brits have broken a bed during a bit of nookie An adulterous relationship may cost more than fine dining and thoughtful gifts after it was revealed that a quarter of Brits have broken a bed during a passionate encounter.

The average adult has had to pay £31 in bedroom damages because of enthusiastic love-making sessions, a survey by TV channel Alibi reveals.

It was also reported that 30 per cent of adults in the UK have had a secret affair and that men were more likely to be found playing away from home with a stranger on a night out or a work colleague.

However, the survey found that the British are a suspicious bunch, with almost 50 per cent reading emails and six in ten checking their partner's text messages for signs of adultery.

Those living in Gloucester will be pleased to hear that they live in the most amorous city in the UK, with the average adult having sex almost four times per week.

People enjoying the benefits of an extra-marital lover in Aberystwyth should be warned that this area is the worst in the country for jealousy, with the average person spending nearly 16 minutes per day 'Facebook stalking'.

The survey was commissioned in celebration of the TV channel's Crimes of Passion week which begins on the 31st August.ADNFCR-2938-ID-800003186-ADNFCR
