On-screen sex 'a fantasy'

On-screen sex 'a fantasy' Hollywood's version of a bit of nookie is unrealistic and people must realise that love scenes in films are "a fantasy" that people cannot live up to.

That is according to psychologist and author Dr Linda Papadopoulos, who said that although taking inspiration from the silver screen is a good place to start, that this can become "problematic" because it puts too much pressure on performance.

She said: "On one side, yes, it's great to use a fantasy. On the other side, it's very problematic if you feel you have to live up to, or aspire to, have the body of someone like this, have the performance or even do things that perhaps you don't want to do."

Dr Papadopoulos was commenting on recent research by Bayer Schering Pharma which revealed that almost half of all women have attempted to imitate their favourite sex scene from the movies in order to spice things up in the bedroom.

A third of women also admitted that they imagine themselves to be in the arms of handsome Hollywood actors such as Brad Pitt and George Clooney.
