Online dating 'normal' way to meet an extra-marital lover The stigma of online dating has "long gone" and using dating websites to meet a new partner is "perfectly normal".

That is according to dating guru James Preece who was commenting after new research by Oxygen Media and Lightspeed Research.

Findings showed that 65 per cent of men and 50 per cent of women would happily date people that they meet through the social networking site, Facebook.

Mr Preece said: "People are working longer and longer hours and have less time to go out and meet people. With online dating you can search huge numbers of possible partners and contact them quickly."

He added that one in three couples now meet online and that most people looking for a prospective partner had tried it.

So those looking to begin an adulterous relationship should consider online dating, as it may well lead to a bit of nookie.

Author of The Insider's Dating Guide, Mr Preece has over eight years of experience of the UK's dating industry. He has written articles and offered advice for many magazines, TV shows and newspapers.
