Germans prefer World Cup to a bit of nookie

Mistresses in Germany are unlikely to be getting a bit on the side during Sunday's (July 11th) World Cup final.

A recent survey for the Reader's Digest has revealed that a massive 95 per cent of Germans would prefer to watch the final of the FIFA tournament than spend the evening with a lover, APF reports.

It also revealed that a fifth of people would not even consider missing the match if there was an emergency afoot.

Despite this, 38 per cent of respondents said that they are not interested in football.

However, success on the pitch may also lead to success in the bedroom, as after the nation finished third during the last tournament, nine months later there was a "flood" of new-born babies, the news provider notes.

A recent survey also showed which country's football fans were the most likely to play away from home, with England fans topping the league – 50 per cent of supporters said they would be looking to get a bit on the side during the tournament.
