Married police officer had two-month secret affair
6 Jul 2010
Police constable Timothy Reid enjoyed an adulterous relationship with a witness for two months after receiving a call complaining about her then partner.Reid felt sorry for Michelle Harper after her boyfriend stole items from her and returned to her home with a TV and a DVD player as gifts, the Telegraph reports.
The pair exchanged mobile numbers and in one text, Reid wrote: "I can't believe we're going to get together, I fancied you from the start. You have a great smile, your eyes light up and you have a naughty glint in them xx"
However, despite enjoying the benefits of having an extra-marital lover, Reid should have perhaps been a little more careful about when he got a bit of nookie.
One time when he was visiting his mistress, raunchy Reid should have been responding to a call where a man was threatening to throw a petrol bomb.
As he was getting his bit on the side during work hours, Reid was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, fined £200 and a £15 victim surcharge.
Despite the revelation, Reid's wife is standing by her adulterous husband and the pair are said to be moving forward.
