Tips for getting into discreet dating after 40

Many people over 40 that are looking to partake in a secret affair may be put off by the thought of having to go through the dating process to find that special extra-marital lover.

However, there are a number of ways to make the transition a little easier, Psychology Today reports.

Firstly, the news provider advises to have your morning coffee in a public cafe as you are 100 per cent more likely to meet someone there than if you have your morning brew in your slippers at home.

Sitting in a cafe also offers the opportunity to chat to a prospective lover without the pressure of being on a date.

The website recommends: "Go to business activities. Conferences, parties and meetings are places where you can meet appropriate singles that you already have something in common with."

Finally, it advises to use the internet, as research by online community AARP, 41 per cent of today's internet users are aged over 55.

However, should you not try you will not succeed, so to get a bit of nookie, get "out there".
