Speaking last week at Clothes Show London, a fashion and beauty event held in Earl's Court, Sally Stanton of Sally's Jewellery said that vintage was very much in fashion.

She said: "Vintage is unique. It's made exceptionally well; compared to how things are made today the quality is unbeatable.

"Why go and get something which is a copy of an original that you can own yourself and be different? That's why people always go back to vintage. There's never been a moment where vintage has been so prominent."

However, should your extra-marital lover not be the jewellery type, there are also many other vintage options available.

Ms Stanton added that Snakeskin handbags, handbags and belts are all very wearable now.

Other exhibitors at the Clothes Show London that could spark some gift ideas for a deserving mistress were Oh My Love, Tatty Devine, Corset Art and Zoe Boomer.
