David Arquette denies his wife is playing away from home

David Arquette has denied that wife Courtney Cox has been having an extra-marital affair with her acting co-star Brian Van Holt.

The two were rumoured to be more than friends while working together on US sitcom Cougar Town, with reports of on-set flirting and romantic dinners, yourtango.com reveals.

However, Cox's husband has quashed rumours after speaking to People magazine.

He told the news provider: "You know, it's weird, because it turns up in the tabloids, and your friends start calling you like there's a problem.

"We respect each other, care for each other and love each other. And I feel blessed that she's my wife and that we have an amazing family."

Despite this revelation, neither Cox nor supposed extra-marital lover Van Holt has commented on the rumours.

This could suggest that that the Cox-Arquette's may be part of a growing trend of couples who do not believe monogamy is essential to a relationship.
