Adulterous relationship may prevent obesity
16 Jun 2010
It has been revealed that people who are married are twice as likely to be obese than their un-wed counterparts, which is supposedly due to spouses 'letting themselves go' in the hum-drum of every-day life. Those who take an extra-marital lover, however, may be at a lower risk of becoming obese as they would be more inclined to keep in tip-top condition for their secret bedroom buddy.
Entitled "Entry into romantic partnership leads to obesity", the study could be seen as a validation to those who are playing away from home.
However, weight loss can also act as an indicator that a partner is having an extra-marital affair, the Calgary Herald reports.
Dr Arya Sharma, scientific director of the Canadian Obesity Network, told the news provider that weight can lead to "People [being] accused of having extramarital affairs, or trying to break out of the relationship, There's all kinds of strange dynamics that happen to these relationships."
So although a bit of nookie with a secret affair may keep the pounds off, but if they are already on, adulterers should probably think about making up an excuse for any weight loss that may come about.
