US TV stars' bid to uncover unfaithful antics

American reality TV stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have reportedly gone to extreme lengths to find out whether one another have been unfaithful.

While Pratt has accused his wife of getting a bit of nookie with his friend Cougar Zank, Montag has apparently hired a private investigator to uncover her partner's alleged infidelities, Radar Online reports.

"She is very anxious to find out if her suspicions and the rumours are true," a source told the news provider.

"It is really important to Heidi to find out if Spencer has been cheating on her."

The source went on to say that Montag is especially concerned that her husband may have "spent any money on another woman".

Whether either of the stars has been engaged in a secret affair remains to be seen. However, a recent survey commissioned by the Science Museum and carried out by OnePoll would suggest it is more likely Pratt will be the one lying about getting a bit on the side.

The study revealed that the average man will tell 1,092 lies a year, compared to the 728 shed by their female contemporaries.
