The odds are stacked in favour of adulterers

According to a new intimacy poll by women's magazine Cosmopolitan, around half of all women are prepared to spice up their sex lives with role play, dressing up or public romps.

While this will give the monogamous man a 50:50 chance of getting in on the action, those who are playing away from home will be able to double their chances as they will have both their wives and their mistresses to enjoy.

The poll also revealed that the 'angels of the north' are the most likely to perform well in bed, as 35 per cent of those questioned stated that their sex lives are "better than ever".

However, there could be more scope to find a bit of nookie in the capital, with as many as four in ten female Londoners claiming that they are not getting enough action in the bedroom.

Meanwhile, those who are married but looking to find a bit on the side could benefit from showering their extramarital lover with compliments after 73 per cent of women said that their body hang-ups, such as cellulite, overshadow their ability to get down and dirty and have a good time.
