Tips to avoid adultery turning into a nightmare
9 Jun 2010
After it emerged yesterday (June 8th) that more people than ever are checking into insomnia clinics with cases of sexomnia, a US website has offered some top tips to stop people having sex in their sleep. Those who are playing away from home may wish to pay particular attention to the recommendations of sleepeducation.com, as calling out your extramarital partner's name at night could soon turn your sweet sex dreams into a waking nightmare.
Firstly, the website states it is vital people have a regular bed time pattern, which includes laying your head down at the same time each night and aiming to get at least seven hours of shuteye.
While the light summer nights are great for those taking their secret lovers out on a date, they can act to disturb sleep, as increased exposure to sunlight can send the body's hormone producing system into overdrive.
It is therefore advised that people avoid sunlight in the two hours prior to bedtime.
Also of note, allergies such as hay fever can bring on the effects of sleep disorders, as can caffeine and alcohol.
Its advice comes after researchers at the Sleep Research Laboratory at the University Health Network in Toronto, US, reported that eight per cent of all sleep disorder patients were found to be suffering sexomnia.
