Adultery exposed in 'sleep sex' blunders
8 Jun 2010
Those who are playing away from home may wish to take every measure necessary to ensure they have a silent night's sleep.A new study has revealed that cases of 'sexomnia' or getting a bit of nookie while you are in the land of nod are on the rise.
Researchers at the Sleep Research Laboratory at the University Health Network in Toronto, America, found that eight per cent of all people who are admitted to sleep disorder clinics are labeled with the condition.
Sharon A Chung, a staff scientist who led the study, said that sexomniacs often have no recollection of their actions in the morning.
This could be particularly damaging for adulterers as they may be unknowingly calling out their extramarital lover's name in bed.
If it is a person your cheated spouse is unfamiliar with, you may be able to claim it was just a fictitious character in your dream.
However, calling out the name of your personal assistant at work, for instance, may be harder to plead innocence to.
