Russians don't think adultery is the nail in the coffin

Russians don't think adultery is the nail in the coffin Brits have shown an increasingly lenient attitude towards adultery, with many cheated spouses both in the celebrity world and the wider public willing to give their unfaithful partners a second chance.

Now it seems Russians are also less likely to rush through a separation if they discover their partners have been playing away from home.

A new poll reveals that more than half of Russians do not believe getting a bit of nookie is a valid reason to file for a divorce, rt.com reports.

The study of 4,200 people also revealed the reasons that people are inclined to get a bit on the side, with men citing lack of marital sex, while women claimed they do it to forget family issues.

Of the 28 per cent of men and 17 per cent of women who admitted to engaging in at least one extramarital liaison, those who were middle-aged and childless were found to be the most likely to be unfaithful.

Dr Andreas Vossler of the Open University and Dr Naomi Moller of the University of the West of England Bristol recently told attendees at an annual counselling conference held in London that adultery can make couples stronger.
