Getting a bit of nookie is not black and white

Getting a bit of nookie is not black and white Those who are married but looking may well know that adultery is not black or white and extramarital relationships can take a variety of forms.

This is an opinion shared by Mark D White, PhD, who paid mention to the issue of playing away from home in an article published in Psychology Today.

According to Mr White, secret affairs include both the physical and emotional aspects of infidelity.

He revealed that some married couples are actually willing to embrace polygamy in one form or another but may set their partners limitations for getting a bit on the side, meaning that people are only unfaithful if they step outside these boundaries.

"Some couples agree to open sexual liaisons outside the relationship, but also agree not to develop feelings for their other partners. And some adhere to a rule of 'anything but sex'," he writes.

The argument as to whether emotional infidelity is the same as the physical act of getting a bit of nookie was brought to light by TV presenter Vernon Kay this year after he admitted to exchanging explicit text messages with several women, although he stopped short of sleeping with his mistresses.
