Media thrives on infidelity

Some media outlets would flounder of it wasn't for continuous revelations of infidelity. That is the opinion of the State Journal-Register, which states that the press are more likely to cover developments in celebrity secret affairs than they are award-winning success stories.
"Infidelity has become a commodity - a story to be covered if its [subject matter] are famous enough," states the news provider.
It pays reference to celebrities such as Tiger Woods who has dominated media coverage this year not for his golfing performance, but to his admission having romps with an extramarital lover, which later became over 100 mistresses as the story unfolded.
The news provider claims that certain gossip websites "would likely not exist without the straying eyes of famous folks such as Larry King [and] David Letterman".
In February, British tabloid the Mirror posted record sales boosted by a so-called 'infidelity month', in which tales of A-listers caught getting a bit of nookie dominated the headlines.
