Adulterers get the CSI treatment

Adulterers get the CSI treatment It may sound like something you would witness on a far-fetched soap opera, but increasing numbers of people are contacting DNA testing facilities to determine whether their partners have been unfaithful.

That is according to Aaron Schlum, laboratory manager of Chromosomal Laboratories, a firm providing specialist DNA testing for a range of areas such as forensics, paternity and immigration.

While the laboratory used to gain most its custom from those seeking paternity tests, he reveals that the number of people looking to uncover infidelities is soaring in the wake of high-profile celebrity sex scandals.

People who suspect their partners of playing away from home are able to provide scientists with a sample such as lingerie, bed sheets or clothing, to determine whether the DNA contained in it is that of themselves, their spouses or a potential extramarital lover.

While the demand for these particular services is specific to the US market, in the UK there has reportedly been an increase in sales of spyware technology such as phone tapping devices.

Adulterers may therefore wish to be extra cautious. If not, they could find themselves in the dog house like Tiger Woods and Jesse James, now two of the world's most famous philanderers.ADNFCR-2938-ID-19771295-ADNFCR
