Barack Obama accused of playing away from home He's been hailed as flying the flag for democracy, equality and human rights, but could US president Barack Obama now be waving the banner for adulterers?

According to American gossip magazine the National Enquirer, the politician had an extramarital relationship with party campaigner Vera Baker.

The incident is alleged to have happened during his 2004 campaign as Illinois Senator.

To support its accusations, the news provider claims to possess CCTV footage taken from a hotel in which the president stayed while on the campaign trail.

It states that the unreleased tape hints that it is most probable the now president spent the night getting a bit on the side with his political contemporary.

If the rumours turn out to be true it is not the first time America will have had an unfaithful president.
