Author reveals inspiration behind adultery book Author Lucy Kellaway, who penned a critically-acclaimed book about people getting a bit of nookie at work, has revealed the facts behind the fiction.

In an interview with the London Evening Standard, she reveals that getting inspiration for her book Out of Office Hours didn't prove too tricky.

Having done a little research into the matter, she found that secret affairs and sexual encounters in the workplace or more common than promotions.

"I found that one in four people has slept with a colleague. The numbers are massive," she told the news provider.

While British newspapers seems to be inundated with stories of unfaithful men, Kellaway decided to depict a little role reversal in her novel; it is after all both men and women who enjoy extramarital relationships.

Her leading lady Stella Bradberry is a high-flying career woman who enjoys a little playing away from home in the boardroom.

Many writers place infidelity at the heart of their subject matter, including Nicole Cleveland who recently launched So He Cheated, Now What? offering advice to couples who have come through adultery.ADNFCR-2938-ID-19747698-ADNFCR
