Bit of Nookie? No thanks let's have a cuddle
16 Apr 2010
Couples would rather have a cuddle and a kiss than get a bit of nookie, new research shows.A poll of 1,000 people by healthcare giant Bayer found that more than half (53 per cent) of couples said they prefer having a night cosying on the sofa as opposed to getting intimate between the sheets, the Daily Mail reports.
This may come as welcome news to adulterers who frequently find it difficult to juggle two sex lives - one with their partner and another with their extramarital lover.
Researchers also found that social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook were largely to blame for disrupting couples' sexual activity.
However, networking and dating websites can prove invaluable to those who are married but looking and could explain why so many adulterers are taking to the web rather than taking to the bedroom.
Furthermore, the news provider reveals that naughty northerners could be the best people with whom to get a bit on the side.
The poll found people from the north-east think about sexual intimacy more than any other region.
A separate study by Travelodge recently concluded that the Geordies have the sexiest accent in the UK.
