Don't set your discreet dating expectations too high
23 Feb 2010
Married men and women enjoying a bit of discreet dating shouldn't set their expectations too high when meeting a potential lover for the first time.In an article for the Mirror, fifty-something Jan Rook spoke of her experiences being back on the dating circuit and meeting people online.
She said that when she first set out on her dating adventures, she was expecting too much and soon realised that people can come across differently on the internet and in real life.
For example, someone you may flirt with online may not actually be a suitable match when you meet them face to face, while someone else you see yourself as incompatible with in a chat room could turn out to be really fun and attractive.
"I've learned to have zero expectations when I'm going on a date," said Ms Rook. "That way anything is a bonus and I don't come away disappointed.
"Even if a date doesn't go well I usually learn something from it," she added.
By adopting the same attitude, married men and women could find that meeting new people and choosing an extra-marital lover is enjoyable rather than stressful.
