Vernon Kay caught out sending saucy texts

He may not have cheated in the true sense of the word, but married television presenter Vernon Kay is still in trouble after being caught carrying on a text affair with a glamour model.

The Bolton dad-of-two has admitted sending saucy text messages to 23-year-old Rhian Sugden and four other girls behind wife Tess Daly's back.

News of his textual misdemeanours was broken by the Sun newspaper, which insisted the messages were too explicit to print in a family publication.

Quizzed on his communication with the ladies, who he claimed were friends, Vernon said it started off as "harmless banter" but became increasingly smutty.

He said he often responded to the texts to impress his male friends.

Tess is said to be extremely upset over her husband's antics, but a source close to the couple has insisted that they will not be breaking up over the episode.

"They are not going to split - that is not on the cards," said the insider. "But let's just say he will be in the dog house for some time to come."

Chances are, if you're not famous, and you're using a pay-as-you-go phone that you keep specifically for your extra-marital affairs, then you won't get caught sex texting like Vernon.

Still, the story certainly acts as a reminder to all philanderers that they must be careful with digital communications.
