Lovers splashing the cash this Valentine's Day
10 Feb 2010
Valentine's Day can be expensive, especially for those who have a spouse and an extra-marital lover to think about.According to a new survey by Yorkshire Bank, couples intend to spend an average of £550 between them this February 14th to please one another.
The Valentine's Day bill for women is higher than that for men, with ladies spending more on new outfits, haircuts and beauty treatments.
Men end up footing the slightly smaller bill for dinner, wine and flowers.
But adulterous husbands and wives could find that with two lovers to treat, the final receipt is staggeringly high.
If you have cash to splash, no problem, but if money's tight, you may wish to consider other ways of showing your other half and your bit on the side that you care.
According to another survey by chocolate brand Rolo, the vast majority of people would be happy with a kiss and a cuddle on Valentine's Day.
That's good news then.
