To tell or not to tell? Psychiatrist says keep it to yourself Married people dabbling in a bit of extra-marital dating may be torn between telling their other half the truth and keeping their mouths shut.

Who knows, perhaps if you admit you have a bit on the side, your spouse will accept your need to find fulfilment elsewhere and even condone it?

Then again, they may feel angry and hurt, which could exacerbate any problems that existed in the marriage beforehand.

So do you confess all, or do you keep your secret affair a secret and enjoy the best of both worlds?

According to psychiatrist Sanjay Chugh, it's best to keep quiet about you transgressions.

"Spouses who tell their partners about their flings are guilty and plead transparency," he told the Hindustan Times.

"People may have a reason to get into extra-marital relationships, but they cannot achieve anything by revealing the truth."

So there you have it, the expert has spoken, and he reckons you should just keep schtum.
