Valentine's mini break hotspots revealed Those planning to whisk their extra-marital lover away on a mini break this Valentine's Day may be interested in the Daily Mail's list of top hideaways.

The newspaper names eight hotels across the UK, where couples can enjoy a romantic weekend away from their other halves.

It claims the Royal Harbour Hotel in Kent has load of quirky style, offering enticing views of France on a clear day.

Also in the south is the Kingham Plough in Oxfordshire, which is set in a picture-postcard village, the "dead sexy" Dean Street Townhouse in London, the Bath Arms in Wiltshire on the Longleat estate and the Hotel Endsleigh in Devon, which will "seduce you from the moment you walk in".

Those who seek a little more seclusion may be enticed by the Bodysgallen Hall and Spa in Llandudno in Wales, which is close to Snowdonia and Conway Castle.

Manor House Farm in Norfolk is another option, tucked away deep in the countryside "an age away from the rigours of modern life".

And if none of the above sound like your bag, there's always the Knockinaam Lodge in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland, which is a 19th century former hunting lodge with a windswept beach nearby.

Just make sure you come up with a suitable excuse to explain why you're away all weekend and can't answer your phone.
