Online dating a great solution in mid-life
1 Feb 2010
Middle aged people looking to embark on an extra-marital affair may find it harder to meet new people than their younger counterparts. This is why, according to dating coach Paula Rosdol, the internet can be a great solution for those over 40.
Speaking to STV, she said the rules of dating change in mid-life and finding like-minded people is tricky.
This may be especially true for married people, who are looking for other married people with adultery in mind.
"The internet is an efficient way to do this as long as you know how to use the technology," said Ms Rosdol.
But she said it's important to realise that the web is simply a vehicle for initial communication.
"Do no more than three rounds of email and then take a personal meeting," she advised.
This will help to narrow down the list of potential lovers and leave internet daters with a shortlist of those to whom they are best suited.
Her advice was echoed recently by relationship guru Male Call, who said in an article for the Mercury News that people shouldn't leave it too long before meeting in person to find out whether they're compatible.
