Online dating 'has lost its stigma'

Online dating 'has lost its stigma' There is no longer a stigma attached to online dating, according to one expert who believes meeting people through the internet is now commonplace.

Julie Spira of internet magazine cyberdatingexpert.com, told the Buffalo News that people no longer feel embarrassed about it.

"Now there are so many online dating successes that people want to share their stories," she remarked.

Of course it's unlikely that those indulging in a bit of nookie outside their marriage will want to shout it from the rooftops.

But at least the lack of stigma means there may be more potential extra-marital lovers online waiting to meet someone than ever before.

In a recent article for the Business Insider, online dating expert Katharine Blodget advised those using dating websites to be honest, but not to reveal everything about themselves in order to maintain a sense of mystery.

She also said using sarcasm or boasting about achievements is a bad idea.ADNFCR-2938-ID-19578156-ADNFCR
