Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin bring infidelity to the big screen Infidelity is a hot topic in the world of film and television entertainment, and now Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin are getting in on the action.

Showing in cinemas now, the movie tells the tale of a divorced couple who, after years of separation, meet at their son's graduation and begin a secret affair.

Jake, played by Baldwin, is married to a younger woman named Agness, while Streep's character Jane is also being pursued by architect Adam, played by Steve Martin.

Of course the fact that the couple have been married before and have three children together most likely removes some of the guilt they would otherwise feel regarding their adulterous affair.

And according to Daily Mail reviewer Louise Chunn, viewers are led to side with the cheating pair, as Jake's wife is portrayed as an "emotionally steely" and "hard-bodied" woman.

Mirror critic Mark Adams also gave the movie a positive review, insisting: "Casting Meryl Streep as the sensible mother who heads off into the most unexpected of affairs is pretty shrewd."
