Women 'not looking for younger men'

Women 'not looking for younger men' Media reports suggest there is a growing band of women looking for younger men, but research has shown that most ladies actually prefer older guys.

According to a team from the University of Wales Institute, the so-called cougar trend only exists in celebrity circles.

In the real world, both men and women are reasonably traditional when it comes to finding a new partner or an extra-marital lover, they found.

Thousands of online daters were questioned and the team discovered that women tend to look for older, preferably wealthy men.

Indeed, women of all ages, whether in their 20s or 50s, were shown to target males either their own age or older.

Guys on the other hand go for younger partners as they get older.

Commenting on the findings, Dr Michael Dunn from the university's School of Health Sciences said: "A critically important consideration for advertisers on online dating sites appears to be the age of a potential partner."

Meanwhile, researchers at the University of Portsmouth have discovered that flirtatious men stand a better chance at bagging a woman when she's ovulating.

They found that women react more to flirty facial expressions during the most fertile period of their cycle.
