As snow and ice forces people to stay indoors, it could be the case that many married couples are suffering from being cooped up together and are looking for a bit on the side as a distraction.

The online community can provide a discreet dating service to people who would otherwise lack the confidence to play away from home.

According to the BBC, the number of Britons paying to use online dating agencies is set to grow from 2.6 million people in 2006 to six million by 2012, creating revenues of around £368 million.

With the "big freeze" set to retain its icy grip for the next few weeks it's likely there will be an increased number of people looking for a hot affair online.
