Daily Mail stumbles on reality…

[Posted June 29th, 2008]

Good piece in today’s Mail about couples that have drifted so far apart that they barely recognise eachother .  Thyey sound just like the people that I deal with every day of my life.   So many couples are tied together by mortgage/kids etc that their relationships go well beyond their sell by dates and they drift into tjhis sort of housemate routine that the Mail have revealed.  What does the Mail expect these people to do?   The pressures of modern life requires a good dose of love and attention and if it is not provided in the relationship then people will quite rightly look elsewhere.    Indeed an anonymous feature writer in yesterdays Guardian  twittered on about her experience  ‘I never thought I’d be that woman standing outside a hotel room, waiting to sleep with a man who wasn’t my partner’ …  baring her soul to her North London friends about a one night stand with someone she met up with on Friend’s Reunited.  She was astonished to find herself with ‘ just a middle-aged man with a beer belly eyeing me up as if he hadn’t seen a woman in some time. "Hello, darling," he leered.     Well we know all about blokes like that ;-)     Ah well, that’s one soul bared and now she worries that her husband will find out ‘cos she talks in her sleep.

Late Nite Chat

[Posted June 13th, 2008]

OUr chat room has been really blossoming of late.  We had the brilliant wheeze of cutting a hole in the wall and installing a door in from our Forum area so that people could stroll in from either side of the site but only being able to leave by the door they  came in from.  So for example I can enter from the forum as ‘david himself’ but I can’t exit into the Darkside directly or I can enter from the darkside as latenitedrink (my persona) but although I am chatting with forum members in the chat room I can’t get out that way.   Its great fun!  We have webcam so people can see eachother and wave etc.  There were 15+ people mingling last nite and it was good fun.

When Good People Have Affairs

[Posted June 8th, 2008]

A new book published this week by Mira Kirshenbaum’ When Good People Have Affairs’  is a total vindication by a leading American relationship expert of what I have been saying for 13 years.  My argument has always been that people do not go into marriage expecting to be unfaithful - life just twists unexpectedly and that most adulterers are basically good people goiong thru life without an instruction manual.  I hope the book sells well it deserves to do so.
